Anna Beasley, a Dothan native, received a Bachelors of Fine Arts from the University of Alabama with a concentration in painting and minor concentrations in sculpture and ceramics.
Anna is a versatile artist teaches high school art and feels that part of her purpose is to share her passion for art.
"Nothing excites me more than the challenge of expressing my emotions using color and line. My unhinged style is a direct reflection of me and my life at that moment. I love to change mediums, try new things, and then sometimes play it safe. My art is basically a part of me on canvas or paper. I am in love with the actual process of creating.
Art has taught me to look at things, then change my perspective... then change it again. It cultivates empathy. I love experimenting with color and trying unexpected combinations. One of my favorite subjects is the human figure, whether in a portrait or abstract figures dancing. I also love texture and building up areas on my canvas to somewhat weave sculptural aspects into my paintings."
